I took a bus from Sapporo city center heading to Makomanai Takino.  Luckily, the weather is good, as the sun is bright and shining that day.  Just seating from the rear area, the scene from the bus is spectacular as the city is so white.

I drop-off at the end of the route, which is the Office building.  I visited during mid-March 2025, and checked how deep the snow is while heading to the Moai statues.  

Either you wear boots or waterproof pants if you want to walk through this knee-deep snow.  There were cases when I lost my crampons while walking.

Also, please wear shades to protect your eyes.  It will be too bright to stay outside when the sun is shining.  

Also, please be reminded that this is a cemetery area, so be respectful and keep proper decorum. 

Always watch out for passing buses or vehicles.

Wear proper warm clothes even during late-winter season.

Visiting the Hill of Buddha has a small fee, so ensure to buy a ticket at the small machine found at the left-side of the entrance.

I was able to roam, encircling the statue to get different viewpoints.

On my way back to the bus pick-up point, I have to be careful as there is a mix of melting and thick snow on the ground.  

The views along the way are just so magnificent and everything is just so white.  But, also be careful of the mud-like snow, they splash on the streets whenever vehicles are passing on the road.

For those traveling with luggage, please be careful as it is harder to walk and pull luggage on snow.
