Hokkaido, Japan: Hotel Forza Sapporo

Hotel Forza Sapporo Station

Address: 2 Chome-1-1 Kita 3 Jonishi, Chuo Ward, Sapporo, Hokkaido 060-0003, Japan

Location: Excellent - From JR Sapporo East exit gate, the hotel is just a block away. Just need to cross 2 stop lights and you'll reach the hotel.

Seems like going to Exit #24 is a longer way to go, but this exit has its own elevator. I find this exit helpful when roaming the underground market between Sapporo and Odori stations.

Across the street is Tokyu Department Store, where you can also see GU and Uniqlo. There are also convenience stores around the hotel.

Security: To use the elevator, hold the card to the sensor panel, then press the guest floor. For safety, the main door will be locked 24:00-06:00.  To open, touch the card to sensor panel by the entrance.

They also left multiple notices at the bulletin, elevator and letter when they needed the guests to ensure we should close our windows while it's scheduled for the window cleaning of the building.

Check-in: The lobby is on the second floor. There is an elevator and escalator to the lobby.  They will guide you to use the machine counter. Commendable that check-in starts at 2pm, compared to the normal 3pm in other hotels.

For the coffee lovers, it's free flowing at the lobby.

Room (18 sqm, 1 queen bed):  I totally appreciate my room at the corner.  I'm assigned to a higher floor.  A small hallway to my bed, nice mood, good lighting and relatively spacious.

The largest window I ever had in Japan, from floor to ceiling.  I can even see the ferris wheel located in Susukino.

Chair and table for my meals.  Even did a short connection for work.

Well enough space to hang clothes.

Basic amenities are available in the room.  But other toiletries, etc. are available at a counter in the lobby.

Laundry:  There are around 4 washers and 4 dryers.  But I can only use 1 washer, since its buttons are in English.  Plus, there's this rinse button which I prefer to use prior to starting to load the clothes to the machine. 300 yen for 30 minutes washing and 100 yen for 30 minutes dryer.

Cons:  Even if there were signs to refrain from wearing sleepwear at the lobby, some guests are too comfortable staying in there late at night.  They were too loud and disturbing to other guests.

Check-out: They let me use the machine again and it's just easy.  They also kept my luggage in their private cloak area.  They gave me a number tag for reference upon my return that day.

Recommendation: Book in advance, they have high-value service for the price I paid.  It's still a new and fresh-feel hotel near Sapporo station.  If it's not raining/snowing, it's better to take JR Sapporo East exit gate.
