Denmark: What to do in Copenhagen

What to do in Copenhagen

This is my second visit to the city.  Browse other places I went to in spring of 2019

Understand the Transportation system

You can buy individual ticket or download the Rejsekort app to your mobile phone.

You need to tap-in upon entry and tap-out on the last station. There are random inspectors joining the rides so ensure you have tickets. Watch for the announcement like cancellation of service and bus-replacements on train routes.

Take advantage of the waterbus

There is waterbus that you can ride to take you to the heart of the city.

This could also be a more affordable option than taking the Guided and Sightseeing Canal Tour.

Just get-off anywhere

It's a walkable city.  You can easily enjoy the city by roaming on the streets, people watching, window shopping or coffee hunting.

See from above

Hidden gem, you can get to 15F of University of Copenhagen Panum for free.

And enjoy the skyline from above.  Please be respectful and quiet as this is a university building.

Also, there are art exhibits at the lobby during my visit.

Visit the oldest library in Denmark - Copenhagen University Library

Founded in 1482, you can visit Copenhagen University Library.  I missed the entrance by few minutes, we'll see if I can still visit it next time.

Enjoy the vibrant colors of the autumn flowers

In Strøget, you can enjoy flower markets.  We actually bought plants before, but since I'm staying for shorter period and avoiding to have pollen allergies that I skipped buying flowers back to the hotel.

Stroll outdoors to celebrate cozy autumn in the city

With limited time (since I escaped to Tromso for a weekend), I just walk along some streets and parks in the area to enjoy the cool and crisp autumn weather.

Express your gratitude for God’s blessings at Frederick's Church

Fill-up your tummy

Bring home a bit of hygge

From cozy candles, licorice, Lego and porcelains, there a lot of best souvenirs to bring back home.  Here are some of the coffee and chocolates I shared back home.

Send postcards back home

Luckily, that I was still able to send out postcards before the PostNord ended the official letter services. Sending traditional postcards from Copenhagen is changing, physical stamps are becoming rare, but try inquiring from some tourist shops.

Catch the beautiful sunrise

Don't be late on your flight back home

The airport is very accessible from the city.  There could be long queues on security checks and Immigration counter.

Don't forget to buy pastries on your way back home.

Finally, the time has come and as we flip another chapter in our lives, some decisions are hard to take but necessary.  Path we used to take together have been trembled by waves.  We may be sailing on the opposite ends, weathering the storms, hoping our bond and respect will never end.

Thankful for another opportunity given, for another visit on this side of the world.  I would value the blessing and chance shared. With hands together, thank you AR and KA.
