Let us share with you the stores we have visited and the snacks we have tried during our visit in Kanetsuki-dori Street. 

Starbucks Coffee - Kawagoe Kanetsuki-dori Street

Location: Japan, 350-0063 Saitama, Kawagoe, Saiwaicho, 15-18

Food: Latte, Sausage

Personal preference: 8 out of 10

We planned to visit the place early in the morning. But, due to continuous rain and change of schedule.  They  may have outside seating, but the fact that's raining, thus, indoor area became more crowded. 

We visited the cafe in the afternoon, it was crowded and seats were already taken.

Kanon Kawagoe 

Location: Japan, 〒350-0063 Saitama, Kawagoe, Saiwaicho, １５−7

Food:   Takosen, a takoyaki sandwich in between shrimp crackers, 300y

Personal preference: 9 out of 10

Unique taste and new experience to have takoyaki.  Friendly seller.  The shrimp cracker is so tasty and crispy. The soft takoyaki inside is delicious.  This is a great snack, worth a try when visiting Kawagoe.

Their seating area is small.  Don't miss this as it is just outside the Bell Tower.

Kawagoe Baum Lab.

Location: 10-5 Saiwaicho, Kawagoe, Saitama 350-0063, Japan

Food:  Baum creme brulee 680y

Personal preference: 8 out of 10

The store is hidden in a small alley. 

What is baumkuchen? A traditional German spit cake known for its distinct layered appearance resembling tree rings.

We ordered Baum creme brulee, a (soy sauce flavored) baumkuchen topped with creme brulee for a bittersweet taste, with creamy custard inside. I also liked this dessert.

Kawagoe Pudding

Location: 1-13 Saiwaicho, Kawagoe, Saitama 350-0063, Japan

Food:  Pudding 520y

Personal preference: 9 out of 10

Like other pudding stores in other old towns, I did queue in as well.  I like this pudding too, since it's not too sweet. Having a lightly bitter pudding is a personal preference.

Mrs. Hamburger

Location: 8-1 Renjakucho, Kawagoe, Saitama 350-0066, Japan

Food: Koedo Slider Burger 1680y

Personal preference: 9 out of 10

We were asked for sauce flavors we wanted to try for the burger.  They are all tasty and flavourful.

Koedo Kurari Kikizake-dokoro Showagura / 小江戸蔵里 ききざけ処 昭和蔵 Liquor store

Food: sake tasting 

Personal preference: 9 out of 10

It's our second time trying the coin-sake tasting.  Our first sake vending machine experience was in Takayama.

You just need to exchange for the coins, get a cup and choose what you like to taste.  Each bottle has its description.  

There are also posted guides/charts on different aroma, flavor, fruity type, aging type and strength. You can try each quadrant.

All of the 4 sake we tried were delicious. Drink responsively.  Previously in Takayama, I got lost on my way back to the hotel.  This time in Kawagoe, I was just noisy on our way back.   Don't drink and guide.

Visiting this coin-tasting sake is a highlight in our visit to  Kanetsuki-dori Street. 

Below are more photos on the look and feel of the street.  There are more snack bar and shops to visit. 

Last time in Sapporo, I bought a used kimono and repurposed it to a dress.  This shop below has more repurposed items like bags, etc.  It's nice to support this project as there are more kimonos that are discarded annually. 

At the back alley, there's this restaurant that is a cat-theme from the outside view. 

The old town, being famous for the food they offer also makes you feel closer to nature.  There are a lot of flower pots and plants along the street.  There are shrines on the way that you can also visit. 

Overall, it's a tasteful trip we had on this place.
