Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo
Travel Date: May 2025
As the place became famous, they now need to do crowd control. Guests have to make an online reservation if visiting between 10am-5pm. If you missed your reservation but already arrived in the area, there's a queueing process that you need to follow. You can get your number on a separate counter next to the main building. Learn more about how to enter the store.
But what we actually did was to be there early in the morning. They opened the doors and we were greeted with all smiles. There were like less than 10 guests when we arrived at 7:30 in the morning. We roamed around for a few minutes at the ground floor and headed to the 3rd floor where the bar is. We're actually here for coffee and not alcohol, but I prefer the setting near Arriviamo Bar.
For the official floor information, read it here. Let me continue sharing more photos taken at this amazing reserve roastery place.
First Floor
You can immediately queue for coffee and pastries if you want to stay on this floor. Of course, this floor is nice as you'll be able to observe the roaster at work.
For those speaking the local language, it may be nice to take the main bar seats to speak with the barista, while they are preparing the siphon coffee.
This shop offers a lot of limited and exclusive reserve-products. If you want to take Tokyo roasted coffee beans, in comparison, the coffee bag is cheaper in a regular Starbucks store in Tokyo than in the Reserve Roastery store.
Second Floor
If you are a tea lover, this is the floor made for you. You could stay at the Teavana Bar. Or buy teas from Scoop Bar, that you can bring back home.
What I like the most on this floor is the wall design of cups. Just ensure that you are not standing on the stairs inconveniencing others.
Third Floor
The floor where we stayed here most of the time. Any coffee drinks that can be ordered from the first floor are also available on the third floor.
I like this floor the most. It's good to have photos taken with Arriviamo in the background. Also, there's an exceptional barrel-designed wall here.
First time I visited this reserve roastery was in 2017, I had Yuzusumashi cocktail for breakfast. As I learned my lesson not to drink and guide, this time in 2025, I'm keeping away from having rum on my hot cinema cappuccino. My sister had white soy latte. For the main meal we had a sandwich. Read more about the Beverage Menu.
Cinema Cappuccino - A cappuccino-style spirit-free cocktail made with caramel popcorn and craft caramel sauce. Enjoy it while watching the bartender's performance, just like watching a movie with popcorn in hand.
White Soy Latte - This soy latte is made with espresso extracted using two-thirds the amount of water as usual. The smoother espresso brings out the flavor of the soy milk even more.
For dessert we had banana pie, while we were chilling at the terrace.
Literally chilling, we stayed outside enjoying the swaying cherry trees along Meguro river even if it's 18 degrees Celsius.
Another instagramable area is the card wall. It's a uniquely designed wall using very own Starbucks Reserve coffee cards.
Fourth Floor
It's not yet lively during our visit, since there are fewer crowds in the early morning. But if you visit during the busy hours, this could be an option for you, as you'll definitely find a seat here.
It's also a good spot to take the overlooking view of the ground floor bar.
If you asked me about the most photographic floor or Instagram worthy, it's the ground and third floors.
Plan your visit here to avoid disappointment waiting in the queue. Hope you enjoy the place in peace just like ours. This roastery place raised the bar for most of the Starbucks reserve shops I've seen online or been to. Checkout other Starbucks areas in Japan.
As a polite reminder, ensure personal safety and do not inconvenience residents nearby this area in Meguro City. Cheers!
