Japan: Tokyo: Starbucks Reserve Roastery

There are reserve Starbucks cafes over the world, but this one raises the bar into a different level as it is one of the few Starbucks Roastery out there.

It is not very extravagant from the outside, but as you step-in the doors, you'll be amazed especially if it's your first time being in a Roastery.  Starbucks welcomes us to explore and discover the art, science and craft behind its story in every cup of coffee.

Ground Floor

Let us begin our journey at the ground floor.  Where you'll be welcomed with a small shop selling souvenirs, mugs, and beans.

They have partnered with Princi pastries and bread to have this combined experience with the Roastery world.

There is also a bar-type seats where you can watch closer how they are preparing your drinks.

If time allows, attend their session to learn more about the process on how they roast the beans.

Don't forget to look-up at the ceiling.

If the ground floor is too busy for you, head upstairs.

Not to be missed is this wall art of cups when you are heading to the second floor.

Second Floor

Next floor is dedicated to the tea craft.

Heading to the upper floor, you'll be enticed with the wall art of tea cards.

Third Floor

If regular Starbucks cafes can only offer your choice of coffee, this one is different!

Cold brew choices, sometimes turned to cocktails also be found on this floor.

Ensure to visit Arriviamo Bar to get your choice of the classic cocktails.

Looking for an outdoor experience, they also have a terrace area to offer to you.

To add this roastery store is designed in collaboration with Kengo Kuma. [Reference]

Fourth Floor

Even if I arrived there early, most of the seats found in the first 3 floors were already occupied.  I though that it's a bad choice to stay on the fourth floor, but lucky me, I was able to get a bird's eye view of the cafe.

Yuzusumashi is a combination of flavorful umegashima sencha (green tea), gin, and refreshing Yuzu (can be described as the combination of lemon and mandarin with traces of grapefruit), come together in harmony in a cocktail.  Served like osumashi, japanese clear soup, and not in your ordinary alcohol glass.

The only improvement I could think of this place is to have a more spacious comfort room to accommodate their guests better.
