Since I'll be starting my day late, I prefer having one-stop from main station, then will just go around the area. So what activities can we enjoy nearby Lake Ashi (Motohakone)?
People watching at Lake Ashi
Enjoy the sun and watch the ships coming by the terminal transferring tourists from one port to the other.
If you are interested in embarking on Royal II, Victory or Queen Ashinoko, then join the Hakone Sightseeing Cruise.
Grill your own honjin dumplings at Cafe Komon
Located at the 2nd Floor of Hotoriya (茶屋本陣 畔屋, 161-1 Hakone, Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa 250-0521, Japan)
Honjin dumplings are skwered ball shaped rice cakes. The set meal comes with roasted green tea, different flavors of dumplings (green tea, black sesame and plain) and sliced rice cake.
On a side note, you can also enjoy free taste along the way.
Take a glimpse of Mt Fuji while walking in Tokaido Check-point
Walk nearby the Old Tokaido Road / Acient Cedar Avenue
It rained the morning I was there, so I just enjoyed the muddy walkway. Listen to leaves dancing with the wind.
Take a boat ride
If it wasn't too cold, I prefer to row by myself than taking the cruise ship.
Rest your feet from above
Have your hot green tea latte from the higher floor of Bakery & Table Hakone (Japan, 〒250-0522 Kanagawa, Ashigarashimo District, Hakone, Motohakone, 9−1)
Get closer to Hakone Jinjya Heiwa-no-Torii
Warning!
Hakone was affected by typhoon and they made rerouting on the bus transfers. Thus, when you do visit places at times like this, you should be studying first to know how to deal with the changes on your itinerary.
