Tokyo, Japan: DEL style Ikebukuro Higashiguchi by Daiwa Roynet Hotel

DEL style Ikebukuro Higashiguchi by Daiwa Roynet Hotel

Address: 1 Chome-20-8 Minamiikebukuro, Toshima City, Tokyo 171-0022, Japan
Travel Date: May 2025, 3 night

Location: From the train station, it was challenging at first to find the elevators to the ground as Seibu is also under maintenance works.

I have chosen this as a base since there are buses from Kawagoe to Ikebukuro and there is a bus service back to the airport.
I know Narita Express (N'EX) is a quicker train option, but I prefer the bus ride to avoid transfers.

Check-in: We arrived early, and they were able to accommodate our luggage. Check-in is at 2pm.

Basic amenities are available at the counter.  I like their coffee drip.  Skin products are available for sale.

Security: You need to tap your key going to your guest floor or 9F for the laundry.

Room: Well lighted room. Window is from ceiling to floor with black-out curtains.

TV is not smart, thus no Youtube or Netflix. There is only one English channel, CNN.  I frequently watch CCTV and KBS World channels.

Laundry: There are only 2 machines found in 9F.  Good thing is that the laundry is not on the same floor as the hotel lobby.

Check-out: Just surrender the keys and they have processed it too fast.

Pros: Staying in the hotel is very comfortable.  Overall clean and still feels new.

Cons: A long walk to the bus terminal. It requires a long navigation from the hotel to the airport bus.  From the hotel, we took the elevator near Exit #34, and had a long walk following the West Exit Gates.  Took the elevator near Exit #19, near NewDays convenience store (B1) and Starbucks (1F).

Recommendation: If staying in Ikebukuro and with preference in taking the airport bus, better to stay in an accommodation near the West Exit Gates.  Otherwise, skip in making Ikebukuro as a base, too crowded as Shibuya and Shinjuku.

Disclaimer/Correction: The watermark on the photos should have been Tokyo, not Kawagoe. Apologies.
