Shirotori Garden is a tranquil Japanese-style garden with a pathway and bridges along streams & ponds, plus private ceremonial houses and tea shops.
We arrive there upon its opening schedule and sunlight is not that striking to the leaves yet.
For December, expect the decorative roped trees (in preparation for possible snow), some camelia flowers and autumn trees.
We roamed around a bit, then decided to have a quick break. We dropped by this shop.
There's a nice tea house where you can sit and enjoy the beauty of the park while sipping your tea.
How to drink hojicha (roasted green tea)
- Pour all tea from the teapot into the tea pitcher. If you leave the tea in the teapot, it will taste too bitter.
- Pour the tea from the tea pitcher into the teacup then drink it.
Hojicha is made by roasting Bancha or Sencha and adding heat to reduce astringency and bitterness. It is characterized by its rich aroma and refreshing aftertaste.
There were mountain streams, valleys, and riverside.
We found this abundant tree of Firethorn or Pyracantha, which is a variety of autumn berries.
Although there are already autumn colors by early December, there are noticeable green maple leaves too.
It's a peaceful park in the middle of Nagoya. Well manicured and maintained park, a pleasant place to see autumn leaves.
