Compass Hotel Nagoya
Nakamura-ku Meieki 4-22-21, Nagoya Sta on, Nagoya, Japan 450-0002
Travel Date: December 2024, 3 nights
Location: It was a 10 minutes walk away from Nagoya Station. Good option if you are frequently going to the Hirokoji-dori area, since there's a bus C-758 that has been circling the main routes. And one of the drop-off points is just in front of the hotel.
Check-in: We were not bored at their Lobby. Well designed photowall with names of where they were taken.
Lucky to have visited some of the places from previous trips, namely Shirakawa-go, Ise Shrine in Mie, Nagoya Castle, Toyota Museum, Tsumago Post Town and Mount Fuji.
There are also books and magazines you can browse while waiting for the check-in procedure. We got to our room 30 minutes earlier than expected check-in time, so it's a plus.
Security: It was good. You need to tap your card before you can reach your floor.
Room: It's small, but nice and clean. Bed is comfortable, but not much for the pillow. Good thing they also provided a sofa.
TV has local channels.
Food: Free-flowing coffee and tea at the lobby anytime during your stay.
They did not reserve a breakfast meal, but we were offered basic meal stubs.
First morning, I burnt some pastries in the oven toaster. The next day, it got better. We had decent coffee, croissants, and onigiri (rice ball). Thank you for the meal.
Cons: There's a small window, but since it's too cold, we did not bother to check if there's a view. We just ensured to keep it closed for security reasons.
Check-out: Very quick. We just surrendered the cards and unused stubs.
Recommendation: If Sotetsu Fresa Inn Sakuradori-guchi offers a better price I'll book it first since it's closer to Nagoya station. Next option I'll go to Compass Hotel Nagoya.
