Do you think it is possible to find cherry blossoms anytime of the year in Seoul? My answer would be yes, I'll share with you 3 locations to satisfy your wish to to see cherry blossom even if it is summer, autumn or winter in the city. It may be not genuine cherry trees, but the places will bring you back to the scenes we have seen in dramas.
104 Hwa-dong, Jongno-gu (near Bukchon-ro 5ga-gil in Samcheong-dong and Bukchon areas)

Izakaya Minami Restaurant 미나미 이자카야
I have seen this first time from Cha Tae Hyun's The Best Hit series.
This used to serve only during dinner from 6:00pm-2:00am. But, try if you can have simple lunch or ramen from 11:30am-2:00pm. Just like other Japanese restaurant, it is an open kitchen bar. Take note that this is a no-English menu, but some of the dishes have pictures. They have sake ranging from 15,000-210,000krw, Korean alcoholic drink starts from 4,000krw, choice of ramen starting from 16,000krw. If you are looking for tasty restaurant with sashimi, oden (Japanese hot-pot with ingredients like boiled eggs, daikon, konjac, fishcakes on a light, soy-flavored dashi broth), and skewers - you'll get them here.
How to get to Izakaya Minami? From Digital Media City Station, Exit 9, walk for 5-10 minutes, before you can reach Basement of 34-34 Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.

Flower Cafe, Lovin' Her
Perfect spot to shoot on this classic chair under the cherry blossom tree that is by the patio of this flower themed cafe in Hongdae.
You can enjoy from sandwiches to sweet cupcakes and wide variety of drinks all decorated with flora.

DeleteI think I've been on a date at that cafe in Hongdae actually! At first I thought you would be showing us greenhouse-type places where blooms came throughout the year, but even a talented horticulturalist might have difficulty with that I suppose. Still, the spirit of the cherry blossom lives on. Besides, I'm a sucker for restaurants and cafes with trees in them.

DeleteFlower cafes are definitely one of my favourite types of places to visit in Seoul. They are all so varied and unique! The drinks at Forte Flower cafe look amazing!

Nice! That last image with the snow and the flowers in the back is gorgeous! I'm a big fan of trees indoors and blooming flowers in the winter/cold seasons so I'm all for seeing Cherry Blossoms at any time of the year. Otherwise, those silly things are gone before you can say "Kimchi."

ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE cherry blossom season in Korea. Best 1-2 weeks of the year. And this year, we didn't even need to wait until winter to get photos of cherry blossoms in the snow! Did you see any of the snowfall while the cherry blossoms were out?
