2019 May: Walking Around Malmo, Sweden

Coming from Lund (Zone 240) to Malmo (Zone 250), I spent 53 SEK (~290 PHP) to travel between 5 zones.  I do not have the transportation card for Sweden, thus I bought this one from the machine.
Tip: This machine, do not give change, so better have enough coins.  Also, consider sitting on free area and not the reserved or silent carriages.

Walking around Malmo

From Central Station, passing the Suellshamnen (inner harbor or port channel), by crossing the Bagers Bro (bridge).

It is just amazing that fishing is allowed in the city.

Passed by Malmo University for its glass architecture.

Continued in Malmo Art Museum.

Interactive displays

Another miniature replicas of vessels on port.

16's to 17's, Malmo has been part of Scandinavian war between Danes and Swedes.

Initially the building is a castle.

From Castle, it became a prison cell.

Then it became a Refugee Center (1945), they took care the survivors from Nazi concentration camps in Germany.

Check the Turning Torso from afar.

Take a photo of Slottsmöllan (Castle Mill)

Enjoy the flora and fauna in the open as you rest and walk around Kungsparken (park).

Spend sometime in Malmo City Library.  This is where I have written on my postcards for my sister back in Manila.

Things to see when you look up.

Head to town square (Gustav Adolfs torg) to check out some flower displays, visit souvenir shops and other European brands (like Ecco or H&M).

While enjoying taking photos of these tulips, I found traces of cherry blossom petals on the floor. And finally, I was able to locate double petal cherry blossom tree nearby the square.

I dropped by some familiar shops like Zara, etc.

Until I reached St. Peter's Church (Protestant Church), a brick Gothic church dating to the 14th & 15th centuries.

Head to Stortorget (city square), to have a view of Malmö Rådhus (city hall) before you drop by Lilla Torg (open-air restaurants).

Tips: Lockers
This locker area is only accepting credit card with pin code.

Better go to Track 5, to get the manual service of leaving your luggage by paying in cash 50 SEK (~270 PHP).  I can't remember if there is maximum hours, but I left my luggage in less than 8 hours at this station.
