Shikoku, Japan: JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu

JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu
1-1 Hamano Cho, Takamatsu, Takamatsu, Japan, 760-0011
Travel Date: March 2024, 2 nights

Location:  This is just a stone away if coming from a highway bus ride or from Takamatsu JR station.  This hotel is a good choice together with JR Clement Inn Takamatsu.

Since it is near the station, there is easy access to convenience stores, restaurants and cafes.  There is also a viewing point where you can see the trains come by and leave.

There will also be a mall that will open with a Muji store by the end of March 2024.

Check-in: It was smooth given that I paid for the room the night before my arrival at 730am due to needing a place to crash in for a quick rest and to freshen-up. So if you worry about an early check-in, just pay the room the night prior to your arrival.

Room (City view | 17 m²/183 ft² | Non-smoking):
It was spacious for a solo traveller. Got a small table for my morning tea and newspaper.

I appreciate the TV that apart from free digital channels, they also offer BBC English news and almost 5 music channels. I tune in with Mozart and Debussy while sleeping.

All toiletries are available in the room.

Wide angle window to view both the JR Takamatsu station and the port side.

Also perfect to see the city lights at night.

Cons/Security:  No need to tap the card when going to the guest floor.

Pros:  There is a vending machine for drinks and a laundry room together, but not the coin type of washing machine.

Check-out:  Breeze and no issues.

Recommendation:  This is a good choice. If you did not book for breakfast, do not fret. There is a Pronto cafe which opens early.  There is also a 7-eleven, Lotteria, and Starbucks at the station.
