2017 May: Japan: Fukuoka: Temples and Shrines in Gion-Hakata Areas

Kushida Shrine
1-41, Kamikawabatamachi, Hakata-ku

This shrine is the home of Yamakasa (decorated float) that is exhibited through out the country.  The festivity is held on July, to to secure protection from a plague tha happened in mid-13th century.

This is one of those that have English prayers (paper luck), where you hang on the temple grounds.

While looking at the prayer blocks, I saw this one cute wish.

Decorated Yamakasa

Jyunshin-ji Temple

12 century Zen Buddhist Temple with Garden

Best to visit the place early in the morning if you want to watch kids from Hanazono Nursery when doing their exercises.
