Shikoku, Japan: JR Clement Inn Kochi

JR Clement Inn Kochi
JRクレメントイン高知
Kitahonmachi 1-10-59, Kochi, Kochi, Japan, 780-0056

Travel Date: March 2024, 2 nights

Location: Next to major JR train stop in Kochi City if coming from other prefectures in Shikoku.

My impression is that it has less selection of food compared to other major stations. But you can still find something to fill your tummy. There is a Food & Drinks store bigger than convenience stores, where I got this rice. You can also find fresh fruits here.

There is also a Family Mart across the hotel and 7-eleven at the station.

Nearby the Tourist Info Center, My-Yu bus connects you to Makino Botanical Garden. Few steps away to take the tram heading to Horidome or Kochi Castle

Check-in: They allow you to store your luggage before your check-in and after check-out time. They will give you a bag tag, and they will store your luggage in a room behind the front-desk.

They had me manually check-in, but allowed me to use the auto-machine procedure to surrender the keycard.

Room (1 X Business Single Room 10 to 15 sqm):  For the eco-program, if you prefer not to make-up your room, they will give you free bottled water as an incentive.

It is very convenient for WFH/work from the hotel setup. Good desk and have a simple office chair.

You already have your own pillow in your room, but they also offer special pillows.

Security: You need to tap your card when going to your room-floor or in the laundry at 2F.

Laundry: If you are packing light and need to do laundry, this hotel is a good choice.  You need to drop 300yen and the washer will do it by 30 mins.  You don't need to stay in the laundry room.  You can wait in your room or at the pantry area.  Then for the dryer it will be 100 yen for 30 mins.

The pantry area offers free coffee and tea.  Some picture book, but none in English.

Cons:  Looking for more food choices around the station.

Recommendation:  Good choice for the room and hotel location. But I hope that the station will have more food choices in the future.
