Why stay in Katoomba? Because we can't have Scenic World and Jenolan Caves at the same day.

Price: With the few days left before our stay, we got our room for an overnight stay at 3427 php. There are other cheaper accommodation but need a bit of a walk from the Katoomba Station, also mostly are with shared bathroom. Thus, we decided to stay at Metropole
Check-in: Arriving at 8:30am, we can hardly open the main door even if we use the buzzer or the phone. After around 10 minutes, were able to get-in.
Gladly, even if the check-in is still in the late afternoon, we were allowed to get in our room.
Room: We're given room #14 which is on the 3rd floor (no elevator). What's nice is we are always passing by the wood fire.
The building and hotel itself is already old, just like old English rooms, you can see it from the walls, bed, bathroom tiles, etc.
Culinary Experience: They offer a bit expensive breakfast (15.00aud/ea) and dinner (30.00aud at full course meal).
There a lot of restaurants to choose from the main Katoomba Street. What can save you from very early breakast and late night meal will be Subway (open 7:00a-11:00p), no coffee. You can have hot drinks just from the local cafe 2 doors away from Subway.
Verdict: A good stay experience for warm welcome and stay with the woodfire (feels like December and with Princess Sarah for the chimney). You'll be saved from the coldness for its good location. We also got cheaper entrance fees and tours, which is a good opportunities for the travelers.
