Must Visit Amusement and Theme Parks in South Korea

Do you want to have some rest from reality life and want to spend sometime to bring back that childhood inside of you?  Here are some of the theme and amusement parks found in Korea that can be included in your itinerary on your next trip.

Everland (에버랜드)

Part of Trip Advisor's Top 25 in AsiaEverland is a must visit to experience the T-express wooden roller coaster as seen in many variety shows!  Get here using Bus 5002 from Gangnam Station or take train to Jeondae Everland Station.

Location: 199, Everland-ro, Pogok-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do

Lotte World (롯데월드)

Part of Trip Advisor's Top 25 in Asia, just within the city center of Seoul, you can enjoy kiddie rides in indoor section or outrageous rides in outdoor area.  Lotte World is a very good option especially during the monsoon season because apart from the theme park, you can also enjoy the Folk Miniature Museum and Seoul Sky Tower

Location: Jamsil Station, Subway Line 2 & 8, Exit #4

BCJ Garden, Paju

Could be a more challenging visit from the nearest train, Wollong Station.  But going to BCJ Garden is worth a visit during spring and summer if you want to see Greek myth characters or just wanted to be with nature as seen in many drama series like Boys Over Flowers, City Hunter, 49 Days, Doctors, Bride of the Water God to name a few.

Petite France (쁘띠프랑스)

Frowned by some of the tourists because of the faded paint and structure.  But we can't deny the fact that this is still famous to be visited if you were a true fan as you might have seen Petite France in Running Man, Secret Garden and My Love from the Stars.

Location: 1063, Hoban-ro, Cheongpyeong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do

Hill Crest (힐크레스트)
Do you still remember Jo In Sung's It's Okay, That's Love?  Visit Hill Crest where it was filmed in Daegu, an eco-theme pack packed with special events and programs that change with the seasons to give visitors a fresh new experience each spring, summer, fall, and winter!

Location: 1003, Gachang-ro, Gachang-myeon, Dalseong-gun, Daegu | http://www.hillcrest.co.kr/

Suncheon Open Film Location (순천 드라마 촬영장)

It consists of three villages each representing a different era from the 1950s to the 1970s. Suncheon Open Film Set has approximately 200 houses and is the largest film set in Korea.

Location: 24, Biryegol-gil, Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do

I have not been to the following parks, but they are in my list on my future visits.

Seoulland (서울랜드)

Surrounded by Cheonggyesan Mountain. There are five theme based areas that make up Seoulland, and has up to 40 rollercoasters such as Space Cruise, Black Hole 2000, Galaxy Train, Rapid Current Ride, Magic Carpet, as well as Adventure Theater, Movie Theater, Story Land, and many more.

The pride of Seoulland is its wide selection of seasonal festivals: the Tulip Festival is held from April to May; the Starlight Rose Festival from July to August; the Chrysanthemum Festival from September to October; and the Snow Light Festival from December to February. #VisitKorea

Location: 181, Gwangmyeong-ro, Gwacheon-si, Gyeonggi-do

Hapcheon Image Theme Park (합천영상테마파크)

It is divided into two main sets separately owned by the major broadcasting companies KBS and MBC. The section owned by KBS houses reproductions of Seoul landmarks such as Seoul Station, Chosun Governor-General Office, and the Bando Hotel, as they appeared from the 1930s to the 1960s. MBC’s set focuses mainly on reproductions of streets from Sogong-dong, Seoul from the 1970s and 80s. A walk around this major filming location will transport visitors back into the Seoul of yore, a Seoul vastly different from the one people know and love today. #VisitKorea

Pocheon Herb Island (포천 허브아일랜드) and Pocheon Art Valley (포천아트밸리)

More than the Herb Island which focuses on growing Mediterranean herbs.  Art Valley is also a must for filming  location of Hwayugi and Legend of the Blue Sea.

Location: Herb Island, 35, Cheongsin-ro 947beon-gil, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do | 234, Artvalley-ro, Sinbuk-myeon, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do

E-World (이월드(구, 우방랜드))

Do you want to have a date with Jung Joon-Hyung & Bok-Joo?  The area around the tower was remodeled as a European-style park and opened to the public in March 1995. It features a waterfall, fountains, lighting displays, and flowers, as well as rides, exhibition and performance halls, and restaurants. E-World has several plazas characterized by different themes; major plazas include Entry Plaza (at the park entrance), Central Plaza, Children’s Plaza (playground), and Young Town Plaza. #VisitKorea
