Nagasaki, Japan: Things to do in Sasebo Port

Good base to settle in Sasebo when roaming around the northern Nagasaki.  Accessible by bus from Fukuoka Airport and to Hakata Station.  In the city, there are good bus routes to major destinations.  Below are some things you can do in the port.

Do a food crawl, fill-up your tummy

Breakfast at Starbucks

Food: Arabiki sausage patty & scrambled eggs english muffin (440 yen), chicken arrabiata filone (525 yen)

Also visit the Tsutaya bookstore, you may find something interesting here.

Sasebo Hikari Burgers
Yes, this is not your usual Japanese cuisine.  Thanks to the US sailors in Sasebo naval base for bringing the burger recipe to this place.

Food: burgers, chicken nuggets, ginger ale

Dinner at Mendokoro Akira Ramen

Food: Akira tonkotsu ramen, fried rice, gyoza set (1800 yen)

Appreciate the art installations

You may want to visit during both daylight and night.

People and port watching

If you want to go further, you may take passenger boats to your preferred nearby island.
