It was in 2017 when I first visited this garden. [Read more] The same as last time, buying a ticket for this place is a bit of a challenge. Tickets will only be available a few weeks before the opening date. The garden is likely to open one week before the golden week, then close 1 week after the golden week. But the good thing this year is that tickets are available online which truly catered the overseas visitors. So better plan your visit here. Monitor the announcements on the website.
Travel Date: 24 April 2023
Since there is no snack bar or food allowed in the garden, ensure to have a good meal before visiting this place. This time, instead of taking a 4km walk, we took a cab from Yahata Station.
They will charge an additional 1000 yen depending on the blooming status of the wisteria. If it happen to rain hard the night before your visit, and when most of the petals have fallen, they will announce it on their website.
In line with the travel restrictions, they have the tickets available based on time you are allowed to enter. The only sole activity here is visiting the garden. You'll be doing a lot of photoshoots, resting your tired feet on the benches, people watching and experiencing nature. You'll be able to finish your visit within less than two hours.
No fuss related to food, candies, ice cream with wisteria flavor or wisteria scented perfume or candles.
On your way back to the garden gates, ensure to catch a different variety. Below are double-flowered wisteria.

Or take a bus from Yahata station, then on the last stop, have additional 4km walk. Want to know more about this read my 2017 visit.
Don't worry about heading back to the city, there is a designated taxi stop area where you can wait while enjoying the wisteria viewing.
They used to have a free shuttle service from Yahata, but maybe this stopped due to travel restrictions. Hoping that this free-service during spring and autumn would be available again.
