By end of November, you may want to search places where there are Christmas illuminations. Luckily, we were able to visit the Christmas market in Hakata station, Tenjin City Hall Plaza, Daimaru Mall and winter illuminations in Tenjin Chuo Park, Nakasu area bridge and in Canal Mall.
From Butcher of the World, we got melty cheese potato and currywurst.
Fill-up your tummy with cheese minced meat croquettes, potatoes and cream cheese cake.
Check other available treats like pasta, churros, candied apple, etc.
With the cold wind blowing at night, what a perfect scene for you to spend dinner with either hot chocolate, beer, hot wine or whiskey.
The main events in Hakata and Tenjin, include musical shows, and a wide range of shops.
The areas were shining brightly at night.
Our visit in Tenjin Christmas Market was too crowded at 6pm. Thus, we left immediately after eating. Then, headed to Daimaru for a more peaceful environment.
Daimaru Passage Square
With another tall Christmas tree at the alley, this place is less crowded. You can try the hot apple cider and hot fruit flavored teas.
Continue walking towards Nakasu area, and cross the Fuku-Haku Deai Bridge. There are individual singers on this area, but no more Christmas food stalls.
Time to burn some calories from all the sweets and food you had as you take a stroll towards the Canal Mall for the illumination and water show.
From all the nights we were hopping on the different places, our visit to Hakata is most magical because we were able to visit the place thrice. After almost 3-year lockdown, it was the coldness, the music, illumination, food, dinner with family - all combined and filled-up the Christmas spirit. Cheers!
