South Korea: Flavors of Seoul

W Hand Steak (closed from Dec 2019 visit)
Food: sirloin and lemodae (8900 KRW = 356 PHP)
Personal Preference: 9 out of 10

It’s about the food!  The potato fries are showered with herbs and cheese.  The sirloin is coated with flavorful sauce and the meat is too soft.  The food served is also on a healthy side with broccoli and baby tomatoes.  One thing I noticed is that the amount of rice is too small, but I will commend that the rice is mixed with green beans, carrots and shredded corns.

The packaging is a plus, its easy to carry to where you want to stay.

The seating area can accommodate only few people and designed for solo eaters facing the wall.  It was raining outside and too cold for autumn, thus I chose to stay on their seating area.  However, on a wonderful day, most locals would spread their picnic mats in the middle of Yeon-tral Park enjoying this food.

In a short time, I was able to finished my food and enjoyed my drink.  Cleaning after eating is also observed here.  There are prepared waste bins to throw in your plasticwares.

Filming Location
Outside the stall is a banner showing that it was featured in MBC.  Apart from it, it has also been seen in Olive and tvN shows.

In KBS' Battle Trip, I have seen Sam Hammington and Sam Okayre suggested this place in Hongdae during their appearance in Episode 22 (October 2016).

I'm Not A Robot

While watching behind the scenes of I'm Not A Robot, Hand Steak was seen in the background.  Across this place, where Kim Min Kyu and Aji 3 had their scene as pat of the audience watching a mini-concert.

How to get here
Location: 148-10, Donggyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul
Train Station: Hongik Station, Exit 3

Restaurant in Hongdae (near Exit 8)
Food: red bean , pork soup
Personal Preference: 8 out of 10 – Unnie was able to explain to me the food that I was about to order. Very accommodating.

Poop Bread at Insa-dong
The poop cafe in Seoul is located at the upper floor of the main building in Insa-dong.  If you are just to visit and want to taste the poop bread ("ttong ppang"), there is a small shop nearby the cafe that sells it, it would only cost you 1000 KRW.  (The reason I'm after the bread and not the cafe experience is because I have been to the Modern Toilet in HK and Taipei).

But when you roam around the shops at the lower floor of the building, the shop that sells the poop bread costs 1500 KRW.

Snacks from Convenience Stores
Location: Anywhere you can find convenience stores in South Korea.  Name it from GS25, CU, 7/11, Family Mart on every corner, subway station, underground market, airport and streets.
Food: cheese sticks, rice triangle (samgak gimbap) with a lot of flavors to choose from, hot teas, get the new or unique flavors of peppero or pocky (that are not found on your local country)
