During my visit, there were survey or interviews being conducted by students. Luckily there were some who can speak to me in English. I was able to answer their question but not lucky enough to win the grand prize.
Thanks to the students who were good enough to offer these treats and have a photo with me.
But if you look closely, they are students campaigning about the Korean history during the Japanese invasion. They were sharing the knowledge about the Battleship Island, Hashima Island (near Nagasaki) and how the locals wanting to correct the history before the island joins the UNESCO World Heritage.

Let’s be familiar with the terms, in Korea “-dong” means neighborhood, “-ro” is street (2-7 lanes) and “-gil” is road.
In the following, we will divide Samcheong-dong into lower area (Yulgok-ro-3-gil, Yunposun-gil (corner of Yulgok-ro-3-gil), Yunposun-gil (corner of Pastel De Nata)) and upper area (Bukchon-ro 5ga-gil, Samcheong-ro)

I was not able to have a good photo of the place because there are many cars parked from the artists and production crew of Temperature of Love during my visit (Nov 11, 2017).
Although the behind the scenes from above was not able to air, it was on (SBS, Nov 14 2017) Episode 34 when the same jacket is used on the BTS (taken 3 days before airing) above.
Choi Won-joon (Shim Hee-seob, sous chef) was offering to drive On Jung-seon (Yang Se-jong, chef-owner of Good Soup) to the airport. Chef On decline the offer and just requested Sous Chef Choi to just take care of Good Soup on his behalf.

Hyun-soo was riding a bike, rushing to On Jung-seon's house because he was crying then.

After Seo Yoo-Ri (Kim So-Eun) caught the thieves, she was walking on this street (Bukchon-ro 5ga-gil) together with Oh Soo (Lee Jong-Hyun) on That Man Oh Soo (Evergreen; Hangul: 그남자 오수; RR: Geunamja Osu) Episode 4 (OCN, March 13, 2018).
They were bickering as she demands him to think on how she can compensate him about the stolen kiss. She then suggests money, so he ask her how much do her kiss costs. Oh Soo corners her underneath a street lamp, and declares that he will just return back the kiss she stole.

Grim Reaper visited Sunny nearby her house to confirm her past and erase the sad memories she had with him.
I was hooked on watching the actual filming of Temperature Love, thus I missed my time to visit the following areas just on the next street. If you are able to visit on the following, also try cakes and patries from O'sulloc Cafe and drinks from Innisfree.

Tony Hong and Joo Won were the guests, when the missions were accomplished by the Running Man team in Samcheong-dong.
If you can't get enough of the filming location around this area, why not not extend your stroll to Lee Min Ho's Sanggojae (known as Yeorangjae) in Personal Taste and Goblin's Choongang High School.

I haven't been there, but I can see why fans would go out of their way to enjoy the same location where their favorite K-pop celeb was. Of course, during filming, those locations are fenced off and empty, making Korean streets feel remote and lonely, but in reality that is definitely not the case. Either way this is a nice guide for the fans.
ReplyDeleteYou're really a k-drama fan:-). this is a good resource for korean drama fans who love to go to locations of their fave dramas. But for me, I like the Samcheong-dong ambiance because of its colors and store designs. It's lively and artistic. It's inspiring to do and live with art around you.

DeleteI love Bukchon Hanok Village and Samcheongdong, but I'm not particularly into K-drama. I recognized a few of the places in your photos. I imagine your article with lots of screen captures would be fascinating for k-drama fans. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all these cool places! Usually when I come up to Seoul I stick to Hongdae or Itaewon for all the delicious food and cute cafes. Even though I'm not super into K-dramas, seeing different filming sets and such is always such a cool experience! Also, pumpkin pastels??? I've got to try that!
