South Korea: Seoullo 7017

Another walking path build by the government for the locals and tourists, opened on May 2017.  A little bit dull during cold nights of autumn.  But maybe more lively when there are street performances.

What's behind the number 17?
The highlight of Seoullo 7017 is the merit of viewing the streets below from high up in the air. Seoullo 7017 connects 17 paths around Seoul from Hoehyeon Station in Namdaemun Market to Namsan pedestrian overpass to Seoul Station Square, making it possible to see the main tourist attractions under 20 minutes. Some of the paths are up 17 meters high, making it possible for you to enjoy the view of the N Seoul tower and surrounding landscapes without the blockage of nearby buildings. [Reference]

Flora Experience
I visited during the autumn season, and was glad to see few flowers within the area.  Magnolia Pavilion and other few more flowers were available nearby the seating sections.  Don't expect much of the flowers during autumn and winter.  Probably, you can see more during spring and summer season.

Lights and Buildings

I'm not sure if this small pool is for the feet spa, but this served a good reflector when doing night photography.

Street Photography

I did not bring my SLR, but if you are fond of taking street photography, views from the top spot gives a different perspective from the usual.

Peeking Points
If you are wondering what they see when peeking on those small pockets, those are with blurred LCDs. Showing a lady doing gardening on the street.  Like she is planting on the "roads", "alley way", making path for the cars and buses.

Food
There are only few food stalls offering drinks and cakes, so better be full before going to this walking path.

To Join a Walking Tour or Not
This area connects to 17 alleys or paths on the ground.  Joining on tours will definitely lead you to 3 or more paths apart from the Seoullo bridge.  The guide will deal more of the history of these paths rather than concentrating on walking on the bridge itself.  Attendees are also advised to attentively listen to the guide over taking photos of Seoullo.  Since this is a guided tour, pacing is dictated by the tour guide due to the limited time. Free walking tours are booked beforehand from this site.

But, if you are after taking photos from the bridge and doesn't require to go to other paths, then you may opt to do it on your own.

Filming Location
Both SBS' Running Man and KBS' 2 Days 1 Night have filmed on this bridge.

Fight My Way (May 2017, KBS) Ep 3
Park Moo-Bin (Choi Woo-Sik) was apologetic and gave Choi Ae-Ra (Kim Ji-Won) a pair of shoes as his gift.
